Historical Background


Every PHC employee should know the hymn by heart and henceforth, it will be sung at the weekly flag ceremony and official functions of the Philippine Heart Center.
Composer - FELIPE PADILLA DE LEON

De Leon is best known for translating the Philippine National Anthem from the original Spanish lyrics to Tagalog in the early 1900s. among his commissioned works are Bagong Lipunan, Bagong Silang and Alay ng Puso (PHC Hymn).
Musical Arranger - ERIC ANTONIO
Eric Antonio is an arranger, film scorer, jingle maker, musical director, album producer, voice talent and entertainer. He has dabbled in almost all genres of music making. Eric is a member of the all-male singing group, The TUX.
He has worked with and produced music for artists like Regine Velasquez, Janno Gibbs, Pops Fernandez, Ariel Rivera, Calvin Millado, The TUX, Franco Laurel, Roeder, Monique Wilson, among others.
Eric was musical director for shows like the Regine Velasquez Christmas Specials for GMA 7, "Sa Linggo Na Po Sila", "The Sharon Cuneta Show", and "Showbiz Linggo." He also produced the theme song for the Sunday showbiz talk show, "The Buzz", on ABS-CBN.
He has worked with and produced music for artists like Regine Velasquez, Janno Gibbs, Pops Fernandez, Ariel Rivera, Calvin Millado, The TUX, Franco Laurel, Roeder, Monique Wilson, among others.

Interpreter - LOUIE T. HEREDIA
Louie Heredia's career as an entertainer and recording artist began in 1985. His first hit single was "Can Find No Reason". With seven albums under his belt, Louie was recipient of Gold and Platinum Record awards.
Among his hit songs are "Nag-iisang Ikaw", "Una at Huling Mamahalin" and "Mahal Naman Kita."
This multi-talented entertainer with an incredible voice and appealing charisma also hosted television shows as "Penthouse Live" and "Lunch Date." Louie's success as a concert artist has brought him to countries in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and America, where he also performed for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Today, Louie has dedicated his talents and committed himself to cause-oriented groups, raising funds for the benefit of streetchildren, endorsing voluntary blood donation, and other advocacies. Recently, he has been active in programs at the Philippine Heart Center and was the lone choice to interpret and record the PHC Hymn.
